* Final Fantasy XIII was in development for the PlayStation 2 for around 2-3 years, however the game was drastically altered after Square made the Final Fantasy VII: Technical Demo For PS3. All programming up to that point was abandoned and they began development on Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3.
