In a world
so far beyond the horizon
The everlasting peace was
about to come to the end
The Emperor of Palakia
began to conqure the world
with monsters he summoned
.... 4 young from Fin
lost their families ....
And no, trying to
escape from the enemy's
obstinate pursuers......

Facts

* Chocobos made their first appearance in this game.
* Cid's first appearance was in this game.
* There is a Family Computer Disk System version of this game, but it was not licensed by Square.
* The 8-Bit version was fully translated into English but never released in the U.S.A. because of the Japanese release of Final Fantasy IV, which was determined to be a safer Final Fantasy II release.
* The cancelled USA version was dumped from the cartridge that was on display at the 1991 Consumer Electronics Show.
* The dumped USA Final Fantasy II is version 12.5, a preliminary translation.
* The unreleased USA version never received a final, refined translation due to it's cancellation.
* The FOMA version Final Fantasy II has a monthly cost of 525 yen (including tax), except in the P901i and P901iS models because the game comes pre-installed with no monthly fee.
* Square considered releasing Final Fantasy II as a Famicom Mini title, but decided to release it as part of Final Fantasy I・II Advance instead.
